This is one of the peak point of the Western Ghat. Which is situated near by Hosa Nagar Taluqa in Shimoga District of West Karnataka. Kodchadri also known as the Kutachadri or Kodashi Parvatha.
Kodchadri is always attracting to the trekking lovers. This is a moderate type of trekking. Which covers near about 18 to 25 KM.
Here several flora and fauna species are available. This forest is Shola forest type where mostly home for the King Cobra, Tiger, Panther, Pigeon and Malbar hornbill. Next to the Kodchadri peak Chitrmoola forest is available, from this peak only we can see the Arebian Sea, Kollur Mookambika Temple and Sharavathi backwater.

Upto to kollur you can reach by the State Transport buses or Private buses and from there you catch a bus which going towards the Nagara

Near Kollur some civilians are allowing the paying guest concept. They provide the food also.

Scenes : This is a temple which is situated at the top of the Kodchadri peak, nearby to which Public Work Department (PWD) building is situated so that during night time we can stay there. For our trekking our organizer has arranged everything. This mine photo captured just in-front of the Temple pillars which are totally greeenish due to moss accumulate on it. Just behind the temple one hotel is there most of the trekkers take their breakfast, Lunch as well as dinner here, it's nice to have a Hotel on this much peak area.
This fort is on the way to the kodchadri.
For starting the Trekking towards the Kodchadri peak there are lot of ways. Our trekking organizer Anilkumar P K has selected the way which go through the waterfall. That was the amazing to see the waterfall during our trekking. While getting down we have selected the another way which was shortest and shola type forest.
Like this lot of hurdles you have to cross to reach the Kodchadri peak. Initial half of the way is more steep which is cumbersome to climb, some times you have to take a help of bushes or branches of the trees to take a grip. While climbing and getting down your legs will pain more. So that better if you carry the pain-killer sprays like Moov.
This group photo of all the trekking members is taken at the Peak of the Kodchadri, which is near about 4405 ft. It was very much appreciable that some trekker were above the age of forty, but still they were trekking like a youth.
This is the small temple situated at the Kodchadri peak where Shankaracharya used to do the mediation. From this temple only the temple of Goddess Mookambika, Sharabati backwater and Arebian ocean are visible. Next to this peak Chitramoola forest is starting which is very dense forest house of all dangerous wild animal.
During trekking you will hear the lot of animals sound one of them is crickets for that one of our friend Vijay got the rhythm and he started to say in the same tone as below.
"Iii am Ready. Rrr uuu Ready. Iii am Ready. Rrr uuu Ready."
Fruits and Flowers :
Actually i don't know the name of these flowers and fruits, so i would like to say as wild flowers and fruits. But they were so cute that I didn't avoided myself to take a snap. Hope so you will like it.

This was very interesting that these flowers grown up on the ground itself they were not having any branch, bush nothing. See once we explore to nature we will understand the depth of nature science. Nature is very great scientist.
Animal :
See just about to fly. But don't know the name of this bird if anybody knows please let me know.
Find the frog in these leaf. This is color changing frog.
This is a very dangerous Animalia like earthworm called as Leech. Mostly it will be available in freshwater. Once it will attach himself to human body it starts to suck the blood and swollen themselves. For removing the leeches you should pour the salt, even after removing the Leech bleeding is continuing for some time. Thanks god no one Leech tried my blood taste. For the precaution you should apply the liquid Dettol to your skin and cover the exposed skin.
