Jog Falls

Jog Falls is second largest waterfall in the India. It is located newar sagar in North Karnataka. Jog falls also known by other names as Gerusoppe Falls and Jogada Gundi. Whose height is around 250 m (829 ft).


How to Reach:

From Bangalore
Bangalore to Shivmogga (Shimoga) Town one train daily Night 11 PM approximately.
Shivmogga to Sagar by Bus around 1 hr 30 min journey
Sagar to Jog falls by Bus around 1 hr journey

From Mysore:
Direct train is available from Mysore to Shivmogga. Mysore it will start around night 8 pm






This fall is created by the Sharavathi River. On this waterfall one Hydro-electric project is built named Mahatma Gandhi Hydro Electric Project also known as Mahatma Gandhi hydro electric project.



Around 1500 steps we have get down to reach the base of the waterfall. These steps are constructed by Tourism Department. All these steps are very good. As in following picture
