Devikulam is a small hill station about 16 km from Munnar in the Idukki District of the southern state of Kerala in India. It is 1800 m above sea level.

The name Devikulam means:

Devi -> Seeta Devi and
Kulam -> Pond
According to legend, the goddess Seeta Devi of the Ramayana epic bathed in the beautiful Devikulam lake waters surrounded by lush, green hills, now named Sita Devi Lake. The lake draws tourists not only because of its sacredness but also for the curative powers of its mineral waters. In this town almost all speaks Tamil.

I stayed here in our Departmental Holiday Home, which was having furnished kitchen and bedrooms. Near by very good scenes are available at walk-able distance. Only Government offices are located at Devikulam.

Devikulam Post Office

This Holiday Home and Post Office are very near to each other. Near to Devikulam one Tata Tea Estate is available, to see this first we have to take a permission from the Tea Estate Manger, who generally available at Munnar.
