Periyaar National Park is located in Kerala, Idukki District. This park is also known as Thekkady which is 4 Km from Kumily and around 100 Km from Munnar. Specially this is Tiger Reserve forest spread around 925 Square Km. This National Park is also known as Periyaar Wild Life Sanctuary. For visitor forest department offers different type of Boat and variety of Trekking packages. as below
When i visited this park it was rainy season so I have seen very few animal as below

Birds:
So far 320 different kinds have been counted in Periyar. The bird life includes Darters, Cormorants, Kingfishers, the great Malabar Hornbill and racket-tailed Drongos. Few birds which I have seen are as below
